Police investigating theft of tires and rims from a Wayzata business

Two sets of tires and rims, with a cumulative value of $4,000, were reported stolen from a pair of vehicles in Wayzata last week. The thefts occurred April 1 at the Wayzata Collision Center, and police say their investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Other recent crime news of note, as reported by the Wayzata Police Department:

April 2 - A wallet left on the counter of an unidentified business on Wayzata Boulevard in the eastern part of the city was stolen. An attempt to use a credit card was later reported at a business in Ridgedale.

April 3 - The windshield of a vehicle parked on Circle Drive East was spray painted by vandals. No permanent damage was reported.

April 3 - A 41-year-old Wayzata man was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after an afternoon accident at the intersection of Wayzata Boulevard and Minnetonka Avenue. Test results are pending.

In all, the Wayzata Police Department responded to 39 calls for service between March 29 and April 4.
