Wednesday Morning Fire Scorches Northern Lake Minnetonka Home

Fire broke out just before 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.

A faulty air conditioning unit is being blamed for causing a fire Wednesday morning near the Spring Park and Orono border.

James Van Eyll said police first arrived at the home on Minnie Avenue near the southern shores of North Arm Bay around 9:45 a.m. and found the northern side of the residence on fire.

Engines from both Long Lake and Maple Plain quickly extinguished the blaze, but the home's exterior sustained significant damage. Moderate water and smoke damage was also reported on both levels.
