Wayzata Police Department Blotter: Aug. 24 Edition

Wayzata police responded to just under 100 calls for service between Aug. 16 and Aug. 22. Below is a brief recap of notable activity.

A suit jacket found by a pedestrian walking near the area of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Shop on Lake Street was turned into City Hall on Aug. 22. 

A 36-year-old male from Minneapolis was arrested for fourth-degree DWI after police received a complaint of a possible drunk driver on Aug. 21. Nicholas Brierley's blood alcohol level was allegedly .18. He was pulled over on Woodhill Road in Wayzata at approximately 7: 15 p.m.

A home on Margaret Circle in Wayzata was egged on Aug. 21.

A 34-year-old man from Minneapolis was arrested on Aug. 21 for fourth-degree DWI, driving with a cancelled license and an for violating the open container law. The arrest took place near the intersection of Hwy. 12 and Wayzata Boulevard West. Juan Carlos Hernandez's blood alcohol level allegedly tested .09.

Police received reports of a car prowler who is believed to have entered a vehicle on Benton Avenue North sometime around 1 a.m. on Aug. 20. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.

Two 20-year-old males were cited on Aug. 20 for underage consumption of alcohol after police responded to a call of an unconscious female lying on the grass near the Wayzata Library. Both subjects were reportedly at a party in the area. The female was transported to the hospital due to her high alcohol level. 

Officers responded to an incident between juveniles on August 19 at a residence on Grove Lane East in Wayzata involving stolen bicycle parts and the brandishing of a knife. The incident is under investigation.
