Wayzata Police Department Blotter: Aug. 10 Edition

Wayzata police responded to 101 calls for service between July 12 and July 18. Below is a brief recap of notable activity.

Jewelry was reported missing from an apartment on Wayzata Boulevard West on Aug. 8. The incident is under investigation, and an estimate of loss has not yet been determined.

The Holiday fueling station on Wayzata Boulevard East reported a $118 gas drive off on Aug. 7. Police contacted the vehicle’s registered owner, and the individual returned to the station to pay.

An unidentified individual threatened to “blow someone’s head off” during what is described by police as an Aug. 4 altercation at the Holiday fueling station pumps. Charges are pending, according to reports.

A 23-year-old man from Colorado was arrested on Aug. 4 for soliciting magazine sales without a permit. Official charges against the man are still pending. A homeowner on Waycliffe South reported the solicitation. A second arrest for soliciting magazines without a permit took place the same day on the 100 bock of Ridgeview Avenue. The individual arrested was a 19-year-old female from Pennsylvania. Un-permitted solicitation has been a problem this summer in and around Wayzata, and police have said they would be fully enforcing  city ordinances prohibiting the practice.

Possible theft of jewelry worth nearly $2,000 was reported on Aug. 4 from a store located inside the shopping mall at 1250 Wayzata Boulevard East. The incident is under investigation, according to police.

A purse was reported stolen on Aug. 3 from the Starbucks on Lake Street. Loss is estimated at approximately $1,350. The incident is under investigation.

A portable toilet, orange road construction barrels and signs were observed tipped over along the 900 block of Wayzata Boulevard East on Aug. 3. 

Police issued three citations for underage consumption of alcohol on Aug. 2 after being called to a loud party at 412 Wayzata Boulevard East.
