The following are a selection of notable incidents responded to by the Wayzata Police Department between Sept. 21 and Sept. 24. Not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity.
A cell phone belonging to an employee of a business on the 1300 block of Wayzata Boulevard East was reported stolen Sept. 21. Value of the phone is estimated at $500.
The manager of a restaurant on the 600 block of Lake Street reported the theft of three batteries and damage to a golf cart Sept. 21. The theft and vandalism took place sometime over the last two weeks, and loss is estimated at more than $450.
A lost wallet was returned to its owner Sept. 21, minus the $100 in cash that had been inside. The report was made on the 2400 block of Industrial Boulevard West in Long Lake.
The theft of several street signs, valued at approximately $645, were reported from several locations Sept 20.
A lawn on the 100 block of Peavey Lane was damaged Sept. 18 by someone doing a “doughnut” in the grass.
Police responded to a report of a car theft on the 2400 block of Industrial Boulevard West in Long Lake Sept. 18. The incident was deemed unfounded after the vehicle was located a short time later. An employee had moved the vehicle.
An off-duty Wayzata police officer observed an impaired driver near the intersection of Hwy. 169 and Hwy. 55 just before 5 a.m. Sept. 23. Police located the driver and made an arrest.
