Wayzata Police Blotter: Intoxicated Skateboarders, DWI and Domestic Assault

Below are a selection of notable incidents reported by the Wayzata Police Department between Aug. 8 and Aug. 13. Not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity.

Police responded to an Aug. 13 report of a 13-year-old male unconscious on the dock after a possible skateboarding injury. Male had reportedly been drinking alcohol and was intoxicated, according to police. A second male at the scene indicated subject had been drinking on docked boat. The second male (a 13-year-old) had also been drinking alcohol. An officer spoke to two other males who had also been on the boat, as well as to the adult son of the boat's owner of the boat. No boat damage was reported, and one bottle vodka found nearly empty. The incident took place just before 5 p.m. on the 200 block of Grove Lane East.

A 45-year-old male from Plymouth was arrested Aug. 12 following a traffic stop on Lake Street. The suspect also refused to submit to a field sobriety test. The arrest occurred just before 9:30 p.m.

A 30-year-old male from Madison, WI, was arrested Aug. 12 following a 3 a.m. traffic stop on the 16000 block of Hwy. 12 East. The suspect was also kept in jail due to an outstanding warrant.

A 38-year-old female and a 41-year-old male were both arrested on domestic assault charges following an Aug. 11 disturbance on the 300 block of Glenmoor Lane in Long Lake. The arrests occurred just before 1 a.m.

A 16-year-old was charged with underage drinking and driving, careless driving and possession of tobacco following an Aug. 10 traffic stop on the 200 block of Grove Lane East. A 16-year-old from Maple Grove was also cited for possession of alcohol. The incident took place just before 9 p.m.

The owner of a bicycle reported it stolen from the south side of the 11000 block of Wayzata Boulevard East. The bicycle was locked to a light pole when the owner left it in the evening but was gone the next morning. Value of the bike is unknown.
