Wayzata P.D. Blotter: Smash and Grab, Illegal Dumping and DWI

The following are a selection of notable incidents responded to by the Wayzata Police Department between June 6 and 10. Not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity.
A car window was smashed June 10, and a purse with iPhone and credit cards was stolen. One of the credit cards was used at a Target store shortly after. Loss is estimated at $900. The incident took place on the 600 block of Bushaway Road and was reported around 6:45 p.m.
Four bags of garbage were found in a business' dumpster on the 2100 block of Daniels Street in Long Lake. A suspect was identified and told to remove the bags or face charges. The incident was reported June 10 around 2:30 p.m.
A 48-year-old male from Minnetonka was arrested June 8 on suspicion of fourth-degree DWI after officers observed his vehicle traveling at excessive speed around 1:30 a.m. The arrest took place near the intersection of Gleason Lake Road and Hunters Glen Road. Initial testing indicated a blood alcohol level of .12.
A 23-year-old man from Long Lake was arrested June 6 at a residence on the 200 block of Central Avenue North. The arrest was made after police were called to the home for a dispute involving money. The suspect was charged with third-degree assault. He also had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest.
