Wayzata P.D. Blotter: Rash of Gas Drive Offs, DWI and Underage Consumption

The following are a selection of notable calls responded to by the Wayzata Police Department between May 22 and 29. Not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity.
Wayzata police responded to seven gas drive offs between May 22 and 29 
Three drivers returned to pay for their gas; three others are being classified losses and are under investigation. Police say video of the sixth incident indicates a stolen license plate was used. Total loss of the drive offs for Wayzata-area stations was more than $500.
Police cited a 17-year-old male from Wayzata for underage consumption of alcohol after his mother requested officers find her son, who had snuck out of the home to a friend's house. The citation was issued just before 1 a.m. May 27.
A car was reported keyed, dented and damaged on the 200 block of Grove Street. Police responded around noon May 25.
A 32-year old male from Fargo was cited for possession of marijuana in motor vehicle and no driver license after officer observed illegal U-turn and stopped the car. Police made the traffic stop just before midnight May 24 near the intersection of Gleason Lake Road and Wayzata Boulevard.
A 22-year-old female from Plymouth was arrested just after midnight on May 23 for fourth-degree DWI after she arrived to pick up intoxicated friend who was in need of a ride. Officers were previously called to check his welfare. The arrest occurred on the 500 block of Ferndale Road West.
