Wayzata P.D. Blotter: Pot Bust, Home Invasion and Solicitors Arrested

Below is a selection of notable incidents responded to by the Wayzata Police Department between July 24 and July 29. Not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity.

Entry was made into a closed business on the 300 block of Wayzata Boulevard East on July 29. Nothing was found to be missing.

A home invasion/robbery occurred July 27 on the 200 block of Glenmoor Lane in Long Lake. A car, wallets and cell phones were stolen, and the case remains under investigation.

A 26-year-old male from Detroit, MI, was arrested July 26 for soliciting without a city permit. The arrest occurred near the intersection of Broadway Avenue North and Park Street.

A 25-year-old male from Canton, OH, was arrested July 26 for soliciting without a city permit. The arrest occurred on Margaret Circle.

A small amount of marijuana and a “grinder” were found July 26 behind a fence at the Wayzata Woods Apartments.

Police witnessed a narcotics transaction take place in a parking lot on the 300 block of Harrington Drive in Long Lake July 24. Contact was made with the occupants of a vehicle, and officers detected the strong odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle netted more than 73 grams of marijuana. Charges are pending.
