Wayzata P.D. Blotter: Illegal Fishing, Sidewalk Robbery and DWI
The following are a selection of notable events responded to by the Wayzata Police Department between June 18 and June 24. Not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity.
A 27-year-old Wayzata man was arrested just before 2 a.m. June 24 for second-degree DWI. The arrest occurred near the intersection of Central Avenue and Hwy. 12 after an officer observed the vehicle make a U-turn in the middle of an intersection.
Two males, a 22-year-old from Utah and a 23-year-old from Florida, were arrested June 23 on the 100 block of Broadway avenue for soliciting without a permit.
A 17-year-old female from Maple Grove was cited just before 4 a.m. on June 23 for underage consumption of alcohol and curfew violation. The citation occurred after an officer observed her and an 18-year-old male sitting in a parked car at the Wayzata Park and Ride lot.

A 22-year-old male from Medicine Lake was robbed while walking in the 700 block of Lake Street around 2:30 a.m. on June 19. The victim was texting and did not notice three males approaching him. The victim was knocked down, and his wallet was stolen. A credit card was later returned by suspects.
A 24-year-old male from Long Lake was cited June 18 for trespassing after an officer observed him fishing on a private dock. The area on the 14000 block of Wayzata Boulevard West was posted with two no trespassing signs, and the suspect admitted to climbing over a locked gate to reach the dock.
