Wayzata P.D. Blotter: Hit and Run, Attempted Home Burglary and Fraud

Below are a selection of notable incidents responded to by the Wayzata Police Department between Jan. 9 and Jan. 13. Not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity.

An attempted burglary of a home on Hunters Glen Road was reported Jan. 13. No loss was reported, but damage occurred to a doorway.

16-yea Two r-old juveniles—one from Medina, the other from Minnetrista—were charged with curfew violation Jan. 12 after a neighbor called about a suspicious vehicle parked on the 100 block of Birch Lane West. The citations were issued just after 2 a.m. Both juveniles crawled into front seat as officers arrived. Parents were contacted.

Charges are pending against a 54-year-old female from Long Lake after she allegedly hit a parked vehicle at 2:15 a.m. Jan. 9 and left the scene—even after witnesses told her to stop.

An apartment complex on the 100 block of Central Avenue South was forcibly entered sometime during the night Jan. 9. Loss of a camera and computer were reported. Value undertermined.

Altered American Express gift cheques in the amount of $100 were passed at Wayzata Bar and Grill Jan. 8. The incident is under investigation.
