Two Injured After Tire Explodes at Service Station in Navarre

Orono police responded to an emergency call late Friday morning.

Two men were injured late Friday morning when a tire exploded at the Amstar station in Navarre.

Sergeant Chris Fischer of the Orono Police Department said officers responded to the Shoreline Drive location to find an employee of the business with trauma to his head and arm. He was taken by ambulance to North Memorial Medical Center. His name has not been released, pending family notification.

The second man, who police say owned the vehicle receiving service, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Orono police say the accident occurred while the tire was being filled.
