Orono P.D. Blotter: DWI Arrests, Juvenile Curfew Violations and Suspicious Activity

The following are a selection of notable incidents responded to by the Orono Police Department between Sept. 25 and Oct. 1. Not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity.

A 47-year-old man from Orono was arrested Sept. 25 for driving after suspension. The arrest took place just before 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Ferndale Road and Shoreline Drive.

Police responded to a report of an unwanted person on the 1900 block of Shoreline Drive around 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 25.

A 27-year-old man from Orono was arrested Sept. 26 on suspicion of fourth-degree DWI. The arrest took place around 2 a.m. near the intersection of North Shore Drive and Old Crystal Bay Road. The driver’s blood alcohol content was reportedly .13.

Suspicious activity was reported on the 2100 block of Kenwood Way just after 10 a.m. on Sept. 26.

A motor vehicle accident resulting in property damage occurred Sept. 26 at the Maxwell Bay landing. No injuries were reported.

Police executed an arrest warrant on the 3600 block of Lyric Avenue just after 3 p.m. on Sept. 26.

A motor vehicle accident resulting in property damage was reported just after 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 26 near the intersection of Shoreline Drive and Lake Street.

An unwanted person was reported on the 1800 block of Fox Street just after 8 p.m. on Sept. 26.

A 57-year-old man from Orono was arrested Sept. 27 near the intersection of Willow Drive and Watertown Road for disturbing harassment. The arrest took place just before 10 a.m.

Police responded to a suicide threat on the 200 block of Crestview Avenue just before midnight on Sept. 27.

An unspecified number of juveniles were cited for curfew violation near the intersection of North Arm Drive and Park Drive on Sept. 28. The citations were issued just after 2 a.m.

Suspicious activity was reported on the 3000 block of Shoreline Drive just before 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 28.

Suspicious activity was reported on the 2300 block of Kings Road just before 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 29.

A 44-year-old Orono man was arrested just after 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 29 for violation of a harassment order. It was the man’s third such arrest in five years. The arrest took place on the 3500 block of Lyric Avenue.

An unspecified number of juveniles were cited for curfew violation Sept. 29 on the 400 block of Channel Road. The citations were issued just before 2 a.m.

Police responded to a report of damage to property on the 1900 block of Beach Lane on Sept. 29. Damage estimates were less than $500.

Theft of items valued at more than $1,000 were reported Oct. 1 on the 2600 block of Wayzata Boulevard. The report was received just after 8 a.m.
