Orono P.D. Blotter: Burglary, DWI Arrests and Suspicious Activity

Below are a selection of notable incidents responded to by the Orono Police Department between Oct. 2 and Oct. 8. Not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity. During this time period police issued 19 speeding tickets, six citations relating to insurance, three seat belt tickets, four citations for not having a driver's license in possession and two stop sign violations.

October 8

A disturbing the neighborhood complaint was received just after 8 a.m. on the 2700 block of Walters Port Lane.

An injured/sick animal was reported around 9:45 a.m. on the 1100 block of Old Crystal Bay Road South.

A motor vehicle accident resulting in property damage occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m. near the intersection of Heritage Lane and Shoreline Drive.

Officers executed an arrest warrant just after 6 p.m. on the 900 block of Old Long Lake Road.

October 7

A 31-year-old man from Spring Park was arrested just after 3:30 p.m. for driving after cancellation. The arrest occurred on the 4100 block of Shoreline Drive.

A harassment complaint was received around 7:40 p.m. from an apartment on the 2300 block of Island Drive.

October 6

A suspicious person was reported around noon on the 2400 block of Kelly Avenue.

Theft of items valued at less than $500 were reported from a vehicle just after 12:20 p.m. on the 400 block of Long Lake Road East.

October 5

A driving complaint was received just after 1 a.m. near the intersection of Bushaway Road and Hwy. 12.

Two females were both arrested for driving while impaired just before 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Shadywood Road and Shoreline Drive. A 40-year-old woman from Shorewood and a 37-year-old female from Blaine were taken into custody on suspicion of fourth-degree DWI.

A burglary was reported just before 8 a.m. on Tonkawa Road. The burglary occurred at a home currently on the market for more than $1 million. No additional information is available.

An unwanted person was reported on the 4100 block of Shoreline Drive just after 3:30 p.m.

A harassment complaint was received just after 5 p.m. on the 800 block of Old Crystal Bay Road North.

October 4

An animal at large was reported on the 4600 block of Shoreline Drive just before 6 p.m.

A motor vehicle accident resulting in property damage occurred at 6:30 p.m. on the 700 block of Crystal Bay Road North.

October 3

A suspicious person was reported just after 3 a.m. near the intersection of Lake Road and Northview Road.

An animal was found on the 2900 block of Somerset Lane at approximately 8:40 p.m.

Officers responded to a domestic assault report just after 10 p.m. on the 330 block of North Shore Drive West.

A motor vehicle accident resulting in personal injury occurred at 6:40 p.m. near the intersection of Shadywood Road and Shoreline Drive.

Officers responded to several reports of a vulnerable adult on the 400 block of Shoreline Drive. The reports were received at 8 p.m.

October 2

A noise complaint was received just before 8 a.m. on the 4300 block of Warren Avenue.

A 55-year-old man from Spring Park was arrested just after 11 a.m. for second-degree DWI with two or more aggravating factors. The arrest took place on the 3800 block of Northern Avenue.

Suspicious activity was reported at 11:20 a.m. on the 3200 block of Crystal Bay Road.

Suspicious activity was reported at 6 p.m. on the 1900 block of Shoreline Drive.

Suspicious activity was reported just before 9:30 p.m. on the 3400 block of Shoreline Drive.

Police responded to a report of an injured/sick animal just after 11 p.m. near the intersection of 6th Avenue and Hwy. 12.
