Man Charged With Assault After Fight at Local Gas Station

A local man is facing ten years behind bars after allegedly assaulting his partner during a fight.

According to , just before midnight on June 2, officers responded to the Holiday gas station, located in the 17000 block of Minnetonka Boulevard, after a call came in reporting an assault.

On the scene, a man told officers that he had been punched in the eye by his intoxicated partner, identified in court documents as Clinton David Fero, 32, of Excelsior.

The victim in the case sustained a cut above his left eye. He also reportedly told police he was “very afraid” during the incident.

Because Fero has been convicted of domestic assault within the last decade, the Hennepin County Attorney charged him with two counts of felony assault in this case.  If convicted, Fero faces a maximum of ten years in prison and $20,000 in fines.  

Fero was convicted of domestic assault in 2003 and third degree criminal sexual conduct in 2006.

Fero is currently being held without bail at the Hennepin County Jail. His first court appearance is scheduled for July 12.
