Updated: Two Boats Crash in Wayzata Bay on Lake Minnetonka
The boats, each about 22 feet, were traveling in the same direction, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.
At approximately 09:55 am, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of two boats colliding on Wayzata Bay, Lake Minnetonka.
Two boats, both approximately 22-feet long, were involved in the collision 200 yards from shore. The boats were traveling in roughly the same direction when the collision occurred. The runabout had four people on board and the collision resulted in a two-year-old boy being thrown into the water. The child was wearing a life jacket and his father pulled him from the water.
On the deckboat, there were five people on board. A seven-year-old girl suffered a minor head injury and a woman suffered a cut foot.

The deckboat sustained damage to fiberglass. Both boats returned to the dock.
Wayzata Fire and the Sheriff’s Office responded to the collision. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating.Update (11 a.m. Sunday): A boater who posted a photo from Wayzata Bay at 10:08 a.m. on Twitter said she did not see a crash.
Original post (10:30 a.m. Sunday): Emergency responders are at the scene of a Wayzata Bay boat crash, KSTP reported Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at about 10 a.m., according to a post at KSTP.com, citing the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.
How many boats crashed and whether anyone was injured isn't clear, KSTP said.
