Deephaven P.D. Blotter: Drunk Driving, Unreturned Consignment and Bicycle in Lake

The following is a selection of notable incidents responded to by the Deephaven Police Department between Aug. 22 and Aug. 30. Not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity.

Aug. 30

Officer responded to a possible fire on the 18000 block of Minnetonka Boulevard. An air conditioner malfunctioned and caused smoke in the building.

Officer wrote an Informational report on a Scam phone call following a call from the 3900 block of Hillcrest Road.

Police were called to a domestic situation on the 3600 block of Northome Road. Both parties were separated. The report is being sent to the City Attorney for possible charges.

Aug. 29

A 57-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested for second-degree DWI and violation of a restricted driver's license flollowing a traffic stop on the 19000 block of Hwy. 7. The driver's blood alcohol content field tested at .07, and the vehicle was forfeited.

Aug. 28

Officer took a report of theft following a call from the 3600 block of County Road 101. A closed business has consigned property and has not been returned to the owner. It was one of several, similar reports. The case is under investigation.

A canoe valued at $100 was taken from the city's canoe rack on the 19000 block of Minnetonka Boulevard. 

Officers responded to the city beach for a found dog. The dog had no tags and was impounded at Village Animal Hospital. The owner was notified, and the dog was claimed.

An unwanted person was reported roaming the area on the 20000 block of Park Place.

An officer responded to a lift assist call on the 3500 block of Montgomerie Avenue.

Aug. 27

Police recovered a bicycle from Lake Minnetonka.

A driver was charged via formal complaint with providing false information to a police officer following a traffic stop at the intersection of Hwy. 7 and Vine Hill Road. The driver was also charged with driving after suspension and having no proof of insurance.

Aug. 25

A driver was cited for no insurance and expired registration following a traffic stop at the intersection of Minnetonka Boulevard and Maplewood Road. The vehicle was impounded.

A 31-year-old woman from Chaska was arrested for fourth-degree DWI following a 2 a.m. traffic stop at the intersection of Hwy. 7 and Vine Hill Road. The driver's blood alcohol level field tested more than twice the legal limit.

Aug. 24

A motorist was arrested just before 5 p.m. on an outstanding warrant and driving after suspnsion following a traffic stop at the intersection of Hwy. 7 and Vine Hill Road.

Police stopped a person who had an outstanding warrant on the 19000 block of Minnetonka Boulevard. The individual was able to provide bail and was released.

Aug. 23

Police stopped a large truck on the 19000 block of Cottagewood drive and cited the driver for being more than 9,000 pounds overweight.

Aug. 22

Police responded to a property damage accident at the intersection of Vine Hill Road and Excelsior Boulevard. One driver was cited for failure to yield right of way.

A driver was cited for having no Minnesota driver's license following a traffic stop at the intersection of Minnetonka Boulevard and Linwood Road.
