Deephaven Police Blotter: Theft of a Red Hippo, House Party Bust and DWI Arrests

The following are a selection of notable incidents taking place between June 23 and June 29 and is not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity.

June 23

A motorist was arrested just after 8 p.m. following a traffic stop on the 19000 block of Minnetonka Boulevard on an outstanding warrant. The driver provided bail and was released with a court date.

June 25

An officer received information from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension regarding a predatory offender.

A driver was arrested around 10:15 p.m. for DWI following a traffic stop at near the intersection of County Road 101 and Breezy Point Road. Traffic Stop. Police are awaiting toxicology Results from BCA.

June 27

Officer responded just before 8:30 a.m. to an Order for Protection violation on the 19000 block of Highland Avenue. The case was sent to the City Attorney for review.

An officer responded to a theft from a yard on the 20000 block Linwood Road. A lawn ornament was reported stolen. Value is $2,000. The ornament is described as a red hippo.

A driver was arrested for a felony warrant and gross misdemeanor warrant just before 6 p.m. following a traffic stop on the 18000 block of Minnetonka Boulevard. The driver was booked into the Hennepin County Jail.

June 28

A male was arrested around 3 p.m. on the 3700 block of Parkway Road for violationg an Order for Protection. The party was booked into the Hennepin County Jail.

June 29

An early morning traffic stop on the 3600 block Northome Road resulted in a driver being arrested for DWI and the passenger cited for underage consumption of alcohol. Police are awaiting toxicology results. An officer arriving for backup was approached by an underage person who had been consuming alcohol. It was determined that several underage people were inside the house possibly drinking alcohol. The officer was allowed entry, and two juveniles were cited for underage consumption of alcohol. Seven adults were cited for underage consumption of alcohol.
