Update: Details are still being confirmed, but two vessels found themselves in distress Sunday evening on Lake Minnetonka.

One of the vessels sank up to its wheelhouse before being towed to shore, according to a source who was at the scene. Emergency responders managed to tow the other to shore as well after it burned for more than an hour on Robinsons Bay.

Witnesses reported hearing an explosion around 5 p.m. on Robinsons Bay and seeing a large plume of black smoke.

Rick Diaz was nearby and relayed his account on Lake Minnetonka Patch's Facebook page.

"It seemed to happen very suddenly," Diaz wrote. "The boat was right by the zebra mussel traps that were recently placed in Robinsons Bay. They tried to fight the fire with hoses from the Sheriff & Fire boats, but weren't making a dent. They towed it to Robinson's Bay beach, and used foam to eventually put it out. The boat is completely destroyed."

Diaz posted this video of the fire on YouTube Sunday night.

Patch is working to confirm exactly where the second fire took place, but photos show the craft submerged up to it's wheelhouse.

Additional details will be posted as they become available.
