Blotter: Man Found Sleeping In Storage Lockers

Below is a selection of notable incidents reported between Feb. 1 and Feb. 9. The information comes from the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department and is not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity.

February 1

A Shorewood juvenile reported being chased by a woman as he was walking home from the bus stop at Old Market Road and Waterford Place in Shorewood. He thought the woman was going to kidnap him because she walked directly towards him. When he ran away, she got back into her car.

A 30-year-old Chaska man was arrested for possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on Mill Street and Wheeler Drive in Excelsior.

February 3

The city of Excelsior reported damage to a sign at the end of one of the docks. Someone had written on the sign with black marker. The damage was not permanent.

February 6

A 23-year-old man was arrested for burglary in the 800 block of Excelsior following a call reporting trespassing. The man was found sleeping in the storage lockers of an apartment complex.

February 7

A 56-year-old Excelsior man was arrested for driving with a revoked driver’s license and no insurance on Hwy. 7 and Christmas Lake Road in Excelsior.

February 8

The front window of a vehicle belonging to an Excelsior resident was broken. The vehicle was parked in his driveway. Nothing was missing.

Officers were dispatched to Excelsior Covenant Church for a report of theft from an auto. The rear passenger window had been broken and a laptop was stolen. It was a $1,000 loss. Another vehicle was broken into and a wallet stolen from a purse.
