Blotter: Impaired Driver Ignores Emergency Vehicle

Below is a selection of notable incidents reported between Jan. 18 and Jan. 23. The information comes from the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department and is not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity.

January 23

Following a report of a male sleeping in his vehicle in a parking lot, a 51-year-old Minnetonka man was arrested for DWI and test refusal.

A 68-year-old Minnetrista woman was arrested for DWI on Hwy. 7 and Hwy. 41 in Shorewood after a traffic complaint about erratic driving.

January 22

On Third Avenue in Excelsior a 23-year-old Minnetonka man was arrested for possession of a small amount of marijuana.

A 30-year-old Chaska man was arrested for possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on Hwy. 7 in Shorewood.

January 21

A 25-year-old Edina woman was arrested for DWI on Hwy. 7 and Christmas Lake Road in Shorewood after a traffic stop for erratic driving. Test results are pending.

A 40-year-old Long Lake man was arrested for DWI on Hwy. 7 and Old Market Road in Shorewood. The arrest occurred after a traffic stop for failing to move over to the left lane for an emergency vehicle parked on the side of the road.

A 34-year-old St. Louis Park resident was arrested for DWI on Hwy. 7 and County Road 101 after a traffic stop for erratic driving.

January 20

A 51-year-old Excelsior man was arrested for DWI on Third Avenue and Wheeler Drive in Excelsior after a traffic stop for erratic driving and an equipment violation. Test results are pending.

January 18

Officers were dispatched to a burglary attempt on Queens Circle in Greenwood. The incident is under investigation.
