Blotter: Burglaries, Air Fresheners and a Dog Attack

A selection of notable incidents between Jan. 24 and Jan. 31.

Below is a selection of notable incidents reported between Jan. 24 and Jan. 31. The information comes from the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department and is not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity.

January 30

A 17-year-old Eden Prairie male was arrested for possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on Mill Street and Christmas Lane in Shorewood.

January 28

A 31-year-old Chaska man was arrested for DWI on Hwy. 7 and Oak Street in Excelsior after a traffic stop for weaving and crossing the center line.

January 27

A 52-year-old Tonka Bay man was arrested for DWI on Water Street and Third Street in Excelsior after a traffic stop for failure to stop at a stop sign.

A forced entry residential burglary that occurred on the 4800 block of Lodge Lane in Greenwood resulted in $9,050 of stolen items.

An hour later, officers were dispatched to another forced entry residential burglary. A list of stolen items had not yet been received.

A Shorewood resident was cited for dog at large and given a warning for no Shorewood dog license after a report another resident’s dog was involved in a dog attack.   

January 26

An 18-year old Rockford woman was arrested in Shorewood for no insurance after a stop for having an object suspended from the rear view mirror. An 18-year-old Watertown man was arrested for possession of small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A 17-year-old Watertown man was arrested for underage possession of tobacco.

A 52-year-old Chanhassen man was arrested for DWI on Hwy. 7 and High Point Drive in Chanhassen after a traffic stop for failure to stop at a stop sign and an equipment violation.

January 25

A vehicle was stopped in Excelsior for having several air fresheners and other items hanging from the rear view mirror. A 17-year-old Chanhassen juvenile was arrested for driving without insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia. A 43-year-old Chanhassen woman was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Someone stole $25 from the dresser of an Excelsior resident.

Jewelry worth $11,000 went missing from the closet of a Shorewood resident.
