Blotter: Broken Windows, Damaged Mailboxes, and Vandalized Cars

A selection of notable incidents between Feb. 15 and Feb. 23.

Below is a selection of notable incidents reported between Feb. 15 and Feb. 23. The information comes from the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department and is not intended to be a comprehensive log of activity.

February 23

Lakeshore Market in Greenwood reported a gas no pay with a loss of $10.

February 22

A Shorewood complainant reported that a laptop computer worth $1800 was stolen from his work truck while it was parked overnight in his driveway in the 4800 block of Ferncroft Drive.

At least two other Shorewood complainants from Ferncroft Drive reported that someone went through their vehicles overnight. Nothing was missing.

February 21

A Shorewood complainant reported that between Jan. 15 and Feb. 12, while his vehicle was parked in his driveway, someone stole two roofing nailers worth a total of $500.

February 20

A 31-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested for test refusal. His vehicle, which was parked at the Holiday Station in Navarre, displayed expired registration stickers, and he staggered as he walked from the building to his car.

Mailboxes along Vine Hill Road were damaged.

A 28-year-old Excelsior man was arrested in Excelsior for terroristic threats and domestic assault.

February 18

A 34-year-old Excelsior man was arrested for aggravated robbery and fifth degree domestic assault/harm in Excelsior.

A 49-year-old Chanhassen man was arrested for DWI on Hwy. 7 and County Road 19 in Excelsior after a traffic stop for speeding.

An Excelsior complainant reported two broken windows on the barn on his property.

February 17

A hit and run vehicle accident occurred on MC Lain Road and Minnetonka Drive in Shorewood. The driver was located and arrested for DWI.

A complainant from the 4800 block of Lagoon Drive reported that several mailboxes had been damaged. Damages are estimated at $50.

About 12 to 15 cars parked on the 5100 block of Meadville Street in Greenwood were egged. The damage cost is unknown.

February 15

A Shorewood man reported that he was the victim of identity theft. When he tried to file his 2011 tax return, he learned that it had already been filed with his name and social security number.
