Blotter: Angry Ex Smashes Windows, Debit Cards Stolen and July 4 DWI

A 44-year-old male from Waconia was arrested July 9 and charged with fourth-degree DWI after a person reported a suspicious vehicle in a bank parking lot. The driver's blood alcohol level field tested at .12.

A car belonging to an employee of a business and parked on the 1300 block of Wayzata Boulevard East had its windows broken just before 10 p.m. on July 8. An empty backpack and empty computer case were stolen. Loss estimates are unknown.

A garage door opener was reported missing July 6 from an unlocked car parked on the 200 block of Central Avenue. The report was received around 8 p.m.

Police have identified a suspect who they believe smashed a car window and stole debit cards, which were quickly used at a Metro-area business. The theft occurred on the 200 block of Central Avenue, and the report was received just after 2 p.m.

Police say an angry ex-girlfriend is a possible suspect in a July 5 smashing of two car windows. The vehicle was located on the 200 block of Barry Avenue, and police responded to the scene shortly before 10 p.m.

A 63-year-old male from Minnetonka was arrested just after 10:30 p.m. on July 4 on suspicion of fourth-degree DWI. His blood alcohol level field tested at .10, and the arrest occurred near the intersection of Circle A Drive and Circle E Drive. The driver was also charged with operating a motor vehicle without headlights.

A 46-year-old male from Long Lake was arrested July 3 for fifth-degree domestic assault after what police describe as an altercation with a spouse. The arrest took place just after 7:30 p.m. on Westwood Drive.

A flat-screen television measuring 27 inches was removed from a business located on the 600 block of Lake Street on July 3. Police responded to the scene just after 4 p.m. Value of the television wasn't immediately known, and investigation into the theft is described as ongoing.

Padlocks were cut off a storage locker on the 2300 block of Wayzata Boulevard West in Long Lake. The incident was reported July 3, and police say its unclear if any property was missing from the locker.
