Husband and Wife Killed in Long Lake Crash

The accident happened just after 8 p.m. Monday in Long Lake.

A husband and wife from Buffalo were killed Monday night in a head-on car accident near the intersection of Minnesota Highway 12 and Brown Road in Long Lake.

Arlana and Bruce Harris, both 57, were traveling west on Hwy. 12 when for unknown reasons their 2010 Ford Focus crossed the center line and struck an eastbound pick up truck driven by a 54-year-old man from Maple Plain.

The driver of the truck, identified by the State Patrol as Terrance Alexander, is currently listed in critical condition.

None of those involved in yesterday's crash were wearing seatbelts, according to the State Patrol. The accident happened just after 8 p.m. Monday.

Highway 12 was closed in both directions for several hours following the accident. By Tuesday morning traffic was flowing normally, and the crash site had been completely cleared.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, Orono Police Department, Wayzata Police Department and air ambulances all responded to the scene.

Patch will post updates as they become available.
