All Clear Sounded Following Small Fire at Apartment Complex

Residents were back inside their apartments by 8 p.m.

Firefighters from Minnetonka and Excelsior responded to the Hunter's Ridge apartment complex on Vinehill Road Thursday evening after receiving reports of a fire in one of the units.

First responders arrived at the scene just before 7:30 p.m. to find smoke coming out of a ground floor apartment. Firefighters quickly contained the small fire, and the building was evacuated with no injuries reported.

Damage was minimal and confined to a ground-floor unit.

Excelsior Fire Chief Scott Gerber said the fire had been knocked down and that crews were finishing clean up at about 8 p.m.

"You will be able to go back into your apartments in about a half hour," Gerber told the building's residents gathered in the parking lot.
