This November 5, I will cast my vote for Dan Haugen for Wayzata School Board.  I have full confidence in his commitment and ability to serve each and every Wayzata student in this role.

Wayzata schools will benefit from his rich background in the field of education.  Dan has taught at the University of Minnesota and Adler Graduate School for 30 years.  He has served as an administrator and most recently as President of Adler Graduate School.  This teaching and leadership experience makes him uniquely prepared to help Wayzata Public Schools address the challenges of the future, including space needs, technology integration and start times.

Dan’s background in higher education as well as social services and mental health will bring a much-needed perspective on the well being of all students.  His commitment to supporting and improving the quality of life for others is the underlying theme of his list of past and current professional and volunteer roles.  Serving on the school board is a natural extension of his passion for helping others.  Dan’s expertise will broaden the definition of success in Wayzata schools to include mental health and community service as well as academic and extracurricular success.

As a parent of Wayzata students, both past and present, Dan brings that valuable additional perspective to the issues facing Wayzata schools.

I am so grateful that Dan Haugen is committed to bringing his years of experience to the Wayzata School Board.  I hope you will join me in voting for him this November.  You will not be disappointed.

                                                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                                                Beth Albright, M.D.

                                                                                                District parent
