Shirley Hawks Retires from Mound Police Department

After 35 years, Wednesday was Shirley Hawks' last day with the Mound Police Department.

Well, today is my last day at the Mound Police Department—my retirement starts tomorrow.

I am looking forward to retirement and the fun plans we have made, such as spending more time with our family, flying to Puerto Rico and taking a cruise with some very dear friends in February, putting our house up for sale in January and moving to Hanover sometime this summer (we have been working with an architect for several months now), closing on our land in Hanover tomorrow and plan to start building as soon as the ground thaws!

I have enjoyed the 35 years I have been with the Mound Police Department and working with each of you. I will continue to pray for the safety of our law enforcement officers and ask that you say a prayer when you see an officer that has pulled someone over, or going on the reds to a call, or just cruising the streets keeping you and your family safe.
