Dan Haugen for Wayzata School Board

August 30, 2013Dear Supporters of Wayzata Public Schools:I am writing in support of a candidate for your school board, Dan Haugen. While I am not a resident of the district, I am a lifelong proponent of public education. I also have known Dan for many years and admire the qualities he would bring to the governance of Wayzata district schools.Three stand out.Dan is a deeply experienced person. His professional and volunteer roles demonstrate that he is a seasoned and effective leader, accustomed to thinking strategically when dealing with complex situations. In my experience there are few endeavors more complex than public education. Having a steady hand at the wheel of the Wayzata district, working in partnership with other directors and the superintendent, will be a great benefit in coming years.Dan is deeply rooted in the community. Whether as a youth sports coach, a trustee at church or a member of the board of directors at numerous helping agencies, he has demonstrated his willingness to give his time and talents to activities which improve life for others. Finally and most importantly, Dan is deeply committed to the well-being of young people, starting with his own children who are products of the Wayzata Schools. He would bring that particular passion to bear on helping insure the Wayzata district creates the supports necessary for all students to succeed to the best of their ability. You are fortunate to have a candidate of Dan’s caliber running for the school board. Please give his candidacy your attention and support.Sincerely,
Steve Cramer, President and CEO, Project for Pride in Living, Inc. (PPL)
