Luke C. Johnson

2007 graduate of Wayzata High School passed away Tuesday.

Luke C. Johnson, 22 of Wayzata, passed away unexpectedly Aug. 16, 2011. 

Luke was born Sept. 11, 1988 in St. Louis Park. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran in Benson by his grandfather, the late Rev. Donald Johnson, and confirmed at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church in Plymouth.  

He graduated from Wayzata High School in 2007 and graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in May 2011 with a BFA in graphic design. Luke worked for several years for Lund’s in Wayzata.

Among the things he enjoyed were art, sports, animals, gaming, music, film making and being with his family and friends. 

Luke is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clint and Millie Estenson, and the Rev. Donald Johnson, all formerly of Benson, aunt, Karen Bauerly, and uncle, Tom Estenson.

He is survived by his parents, Daryl and Susan; brothers, Daren and Jeffrey, all of Wayzata; grandmother, Carolyn Johnson of Duluth; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.  

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 19, from 5-8 p.m. at David Lee Funeral Home 1220 East Wayzata Boulevard in Wayzata. Funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 20, at 2 p.m. at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, 17205 County Road 6, Plymouth, with visitation one hour prior to the service at church. 

Interment service at the Benson City Cemetery on Monday, August 22 at 11:30 AM. 

Memorials preferred to the Animal Humane Society.
