Women Cost More

As a woman, I believe that it costs us more to live than men.

Have you ever compared the cost of getting your haircut versus the haircut of a man? I get my haircut at Aveda New Reflections in Plymouth which is right next door to my office building. I've never been able to walk out of there spending less than men do.

Or what about dry cleaning?

I don't know if you are aware, but women pay more overall for their drycleaning than men. Since these are costs associated with doing business, these are difficult costs and charges to cut for women. But one area you can look at cutting is looking at the amount of money that you are spending eating out.  

If you bring your lunch to work rather than eating out everyday, this can make a dramatic difference. Did you know that saving $7 for everday that you don't dine out for lunch, for 42 years, at a 10 percent rate of return can potentially amount to $1.1 million?  

Now, this does not take into account inflation, any fees and taxes but I thought I would share that, just to give you an idea of the cost savings you could benefit from.

If you are in a relationship this is not permission for you to pick on your partner for spending a lot of money. We all spend a lot of money, it is just recognizing where wer spend our money and to make sure we are spending money on our priorities.
