Weekly Wayzata Police Blotter: June 2

Three DWI arrests in recent days were among the more than 70  calls and requests for service this past week to the Wayzata Police Department. Below are some of the more notable log book entries:

- Daniel Murphy, 62, was arrested and charged with third-degree DWI after he was stopped at the intersection of Wayzata Boulevard and Chicago Avenue on Sunday, May 30. Murphy was also charged with careless driving, and police say his blood alcohol content tests indicated a .23 reading—nearly three times the legal limit.

- A 44-year-old man from Dassel faces fourth-degree DWI charges after being arrested in the early morning hours of May 29. Ross Christianson was stopped near the intersection of Hwy. 12 and County Road 15 West.

- Blake Matthews, 28, has been charged with second-degree DWI after police say tests indicated he was driving with a blood alcohol content of .28. Matthews was stopped just after 3 a.m. on May 24 on the 200 block of Wayzata Boulevard West.

- Electronics valued at more than $225 were reported stolen from a display rack at the Radio Shack on Wayzata Boulevard East last week.

- Vandals spraypainted a public building adjacent to the public tennis courts on Park Street East late last week. Graffiti was also reported the same day on a motor vehicle parked on Park Street. A third report of graffiti involved the vandalism of a school wall. The reports are the latest in a recent string of graffiti complaints logged this spring.
