Wayzata Residents Declare Candidacy for City Council Seats

Mayor Ken Willcox will run unopposed while three candidates will vie for a pair of city council seats.

Voters in Wayzata will be casting ballots this November for three city council seats up for election. The deadline to file for city office was 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, and candidates have until 5 p.m. on Aug. 16 to withdraw their declarations.

Mayor Ken Willcox has filed for re-election and will run unopposed this fall.

A pair of city council seats will also be up for election, and three candidates will vie for the positions.

Andrew Mullin will seek another term, and Bridget M. Anderson and Alex Plechash have also filed declarations of candidacy. Voters will be able to vote for two candidates, with the top-two vote recipients earning council seats.

Current city council member Mary Bader did not file for re-election.
