Wayzata Police Issue Crime Alert

Transient sales people have not applied for appropriate permit.

Editor's note: the following information was provided by the Wayzata Police Department.

Wayzata Police have come in contact with a new organization soliciting from door to door in our city.

The name of the organization is "Freedom United Sales," and they are soliciting donations for Care Packages for military troops.

As their information states, they are a for-profit business “selling care packages.” They are transient merchants, very similar to the magazine sales organizations the Wayzata Police Department has encountered, staying at local hotels and being dropped off in neighborhoods by van.

As with any for-profit sales organization, "Freedom United Sales" are required to obtain a permit from the city of Wayzata prior to selling door to door. They have not done so.
