Wayzata Chilly Open Draws More than 1,000 Spectators

A frozen Lake Minnetonka served as a golf course for Saturday's 29th Annual Chilly Open on Wayzata Bay.

More than 900 golfers and about 1,000 spectators took to the frozen waters of Lake Minnetonka over the weekend for the 29th Annual Wayzata Chilly Open.

Hosted by the Greater Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce, the 2013 Chilly Open featured a "the 80s are back" theme.

Golfers wearing zany gear had a chance to navigate one of two nine-hole courses using clubs, hockey sticks or any other contraption they can to sink a tennis ball on Wayzata Bay. After hitting the frozen links, golfers warmed up with some of the best chilli in Minnesota.
