The grass is still wet from a recent thunderstorm, it's two o' clock in the afternoon and the only golfers on the course appear to be under four feet tall.
This is a common sight at Baker National Golf Course for several weeks during the summer, as young golfers from throughout the Lake Minnetonka area participate in the "First Tee" program, part of Three Rivers Park District's Golf Academy.
Golfers ages of 8-17 take a week to learn the basics and essentials of golf, on a real course, under the supervision of a PGA instructor. Scholarships are available to qualifying students and underrepresented groups are encouraged to enroll.
