Tonight: Lake Minnetonka Historical Society Screens Civil War Documentary

Join the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Historical Society tonight at the Southshore Community Center for a screening of "From Wasioja to Washington."

Tonight is the rescheduled free screening of "From Wasioja to Washington," a film that follows the "boys of Wasioja" (a small town in southeastern Minnesota about 20 miles west of Rochester) as they are recruited from Northwestern College Seminary to muster at Fort Snelling, fight the battles of Mill Springs and Chickamauga, march to Atlanta and to the sea with General Sherman, fight in the routing of South Carolina, take the Grand March at the end of the war and return to muster out at Fort Snelling.

Join the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Historical Society at 7 p.m. at the Southshore Community Center. Author Michael Eckers, executive producer Rich Oxley and director Samuel Henderson will be on hand to present the film and answer questions.
