TODAY: Developers Will Update Public on $125 Million Wayzata Project

After years of turbulence, Promenade of Wayzata project now appears on track to break ground.

As crews prep the site for demolition, developers and city leaders will conduct a pair of public meetings today to update residents on the Promenade of Wayzata, also known as the Bay Center project.

The meetings will take place at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Discussion of the project's highlights, sharing of the demolition and construction schedules, as well as an opportunity to ask questions are planned.

Citing a drastic downswing in the commercial real estate market, Presbyterian Homes, the project's developer, has revised its time line several times in recent years. Present projections call for the first phase of the $125 million project to be complete by 2013.
