The Wayzata Towne Trolley—A Tradition Since 1989

Take a free ride on the red trolley and explore Wayzata.

The Greater Wayzata Area of Chamber of Commerce has operated the Wayzata Towne Trolley since 1989. Riding the red trolley is a favorite summertime activity for children and adults of all ages.

The Wayzata Towne Trolley route includes 17 stops. Riders can board at any of the official trolley stop signs throughout Wayzata. Some of the most popular places to board the trolley include the Wayzata Depot, the Wayzata Library, the Wayzata Beach, and Creative Kidstuff in Colonial Square.

The trolley runs Monday through Saturday until September 24, 2011. The hours of operation vary by the date and month. For the full schedule, visit the Greater Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce website at www.wayzatachamber.com.

Because local businesses sponsor the Wayzata Towne Trolley, the approximately 30-minute circle tour is free. However, donations are appreciated.

On Wednesday afternoons in June and August, the Gold Coast Tour departs from the Wayzata Depot. The trolley travels west of Wayzata along Ferndale Road and to Minnetonka Beach. Historical information about landmarks and areas along the route are shared with riders.

The Wayzata Towne Trolley is also available for weddings and special events on evenings and weekends.
