Shorewood Proposes Lake Minnetonka Trail Extension

An open house to discuss the idea has been scheduled for Nov. 15 at Minnewashta Elementary School.

Information provided by the City of Shorewood

The City of Shorewood is proposing a pedestrian trail from the City of Victoria on Smithtown Road to the Lake Minnetonka LRT trail at Eureka Road.

Families and area residents are encouraged to give feedback on the trail at an open house event in the Media Center at Minnewashta Elementary on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 6:30-8 p.m.

Representatives from the city will be in attendance to present the Smithtown Road portion of the city’s trail study, and to get feedback on needs of residents who attend the school or use Smithtown Road for walking and biking. The fourth grade will be hosting music concerts the same evening, so parents of those grades can visit the open house before or after their concerts.

All others should be aware of a heavy demand on parking and are encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool.
