Photos: Kids Welcome New Babies During 'Farmyard Fun Day' at Gale Woods Farm

Baby lambs, farm-fresh pancakes, wool crafts and farm games kept kids outside and busy Tuesday morning.

Kids arrived at Gale Woods Farm by the bus load Tuesday morning for "Farmyard Fun Day." Highlighting the spring tradition: a growing brood of infant lambs—three of which were born just hours before kids stormed the barn.

Gale Woods Farm, which is operated by the Three Rivers Park District, gave kids a chance to check the hen coop for eggs, make a bracelet from recently-shorn wool and whip up fresh pancakes using ingredients gathered from the farm.
