It was a cool but comfortable morning on Lake Minnetonka Satruday, perfect conditions for outdoor hockey.
Dozens of teams from throughout the state of Minnesota are facing off on Excelsior Bay this weekend as part of the North America Pond Hockey Championships. Players ages mite through adult skated on 10 rinks constructed near the Bayview Event Center and Maynards, and spectators cheering on their favorites ringed the boards.

Sunday's schedule of events will also include a the Jack Jablonski Junior Bronze Pond Hockey Tournament, which will raise money for the paralyzed high school hockey player from Benilde-St. Margarat's.
