From fireworks to parades and flying pancakes, Lake Minnetonka will be humming with patriotism this weekend.

Where: The Historic Wayzata Depot (402 Lake Street E, Wayzata)
Why Go: Catch your breakfast while it’s hot, hear tales from revolutionary actors and see muskets being fired.
Price: $6 includes pancakes, sausage, coffee, cold drink and a flag. Veterans eat for free.


When: 8:30 a.m.
Where: 
Why Go: Get creative down by the lakeside.
Price: Free

Delano 27th Annual 4th of July Run
When: 9:45 a.m.
Where: Delano Crossings (St. Peter Avenue and 13th Street)
Why Go: A nice 5k race through town finishing at Central Park.
Price: $30, must register on-line by the end of July 2 or on race day between 7:30 and 9:15 a.m.


When: 10 a.m.
Where: On the corner of Park Street and Broadway Avenue in Wayzata
Why Go: All kids accompanied by an adult can participate, as well as enjoy face painting, balloons, popsicles and more.

Delano Parade
When: 10:30 a.m.
Where: Delano
Why Go: Delano’s 4th of July parade is the oldest and largest in the entire state of Minnesota.
Price: Free
 
Kids' Patriotic Parade & Popsicle Social
When: 11 a.m.
Where: 540 Lake Street to
Why Go: Popsicles and parades, life for a kid doesn’t seem to get much better.
Price: Free

Kids' Fishing Contest
When: 12 to 2 p.m.
Where:  shoreline
Why Go: Prepare to catch the big ones.
 

When: 12 to 7:30 p.m.
Where: 
Why Go: Live entertainment featuring a TBD kids’ act, Golden Classics, Hak and Silent Agency.
Price: Free
  

When: 12:30 p.m.
Where: 
Why Go: Kids under 12 can get outside and compete in the Wayzata Fire Department’s variety of events.
Price: Free

Tim Mahoney
When: 3 to 7 p.m.
Where: Lord Fletchers (3746 Sunset Drive, Spring Park)
Why Go: Don’t miss the local “Voice”.
Price: No cover charge

Fireworks and Boating
When: 7 to 11 p.m.
Where: Al & Alma's
Why Go: Boat around Lake Minnetonka and float under the firework display in Echo Bay.
Price: $15-45 per passenger

Planes, Orchestra & Fireworks
When: 8:15 to 10:30 p.m.
Where: 
Why Go: Host Don Shelby will lead a salute to the Veterans followed by a WWII T-6 Flight Team flyover. The Minnesota Orchestra will perform at 8:30 p.m. and fireworks will top of the evening at 10 p.m.

Delano Entertainment Tent
When: 8 p.m. to midnight
Where: Central Park Band Shell
Why Go: Live music from DiamondBack. GoldStar Carnival rides, Bingo and more are close by.

The Brute Squad Band
When: 9 p.m.
Where: 
Why Go: Live music that revives blues, southern and classic rock.
 
Giant Firework Display
When: Saturday, July 2 at 9 p.m.
Where: Central Park, Delano
Why Go: During the show, the city will launch its largest rocket (16” in diameter) to date.
Price: Free
