Long Lake Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Tax Crime

Tuesday's guilty plea was made in U.S. District Court.

The U.S. Justice Department announced late Tuesday that a Long Lake man has pleaded guilty to one count of filing a false federal corporate tax return.

As part of his plea agreement, John Joseph Bridge admitted he understated the 2008 gross revenue of Mound-based Fineline Lakeshore, Inc. by $89,000. Bridge is one of three controlling partners of Fineline Lakeshore and was responsible for providing information to the company's tax preparers.

Bridge was formally charged by the U.S. Attorney's Office earlier this month after an investigation conducted by the I.R.S. He faces up to three years in prison if given the maximum sentence for the felony-level crime.
