Local High School Track Coach Wins a Blustery Lake Minnetonka Half Marathon

Seth Brickley repeats as champion of the Lake Minnetonka Half Marathon.

A Mound-Westonka High School track coach bested a field of more than 2,000 to win Sunday's Lake Minnetonka Half Marathon.

Seth Brickley finished Sunday's race nearly a full minute ahead of his nearest competitor. It was the second consecutive year he won the race.

It was another high school track coach who won the women's race. Kalsey Larson finished the 13.1-mile course in just under 90 minutes. Long Lake resident Jan Gunther finished second.

Temperatures were in the low 30s at the start of Sunday's race and warmed up only fractionally during the morning. Stiff, sustained winds that at times gusted over 20 mph made it feel even cooler, particularly near the lake shore.
