While he says that "nothing is guaranteed," a major television network has optioned local author Matt Logelin's book "Two Kisses for Maddie" for a movie.
Longelin wrote yesterday on his blog that the Lifetime Network is the likely suiter and that several Hollywood heavy hitters (including "Friends" co-creater Marta Kauffman) have "signed on to make sure this thing is done well."
In "Two Kisses for Maddy" Logelin recounts the heartbreaking loss of his wife, Liz, who died hours after giving birth. The two were high school sweethearts from Minnetonka.
Longelin drew a to in Wayzata last year when he came to town for a reading and to sign copies of the book, which spent several months on the New York Times Bestseller List last year.
“I never, ever imagined writing a book, and it was never even a consideration that I may end up as a New York Times bestselling author,” Logelin told Patch last spring.
Now a resident of Los Angeles, Longelin tours the country extensively and often brings Maddy along when her schedule permits.
Patch will have updates on the movie's progress as they become available.
