Lake Minnetonka Under Severe Weather Watch

Severe thunderstorms and hail could develop around the lake during the overnight.

Scattered thunderstorms, some severe, are expected to develop late Saturday night and into early Sunday morning, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the Lake Minnetonka area.

Hail and damaging winds are also possible.

Most of the communities around Lake Minnetonka can expect between a tenth and a quarter inch of rain, with some higher amounts in areas hit by severe weather.

The Severe Thunderstorm Satch curretly is set to expire at 3 a.m. Sunday for Hennepin County.

Chance of additional rain for the Lake Minnetonka area during the day Sunday is about 60 percent, according to the National Weather Service.
