'I Fell for the Ole Purify Yourself in the Waters of Lake Minnetonka Trick Again'
An Indiana man with a great moustache splices himself into Lake Minnetonka's moment in Prince's movie 'Purple Rain.'
Don't tell Prince, but someone has posted a short online video clip with the new Vine app, based on the famed Lake Minnetonka scene from the movie Purple Rain.
Jimmy theCornCracker (aka @roadkill3x on Twitter) intercut his own responses to Prince in the scene in which he tells co-star Apollonia to "purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka" as a kind of initiation.

The video is in the form of a Vine, a 6-second, GIF-like clip that repeats until you turn it off. (See it in the window above or at Twitter.com.) Gutsy move on @roadkill3x's part, considering Prince filed a lawsuit over a Vine earlier in the week (see that one here).
SPOILER ALERT if you haven't seen the movie Purple Rain (1984).

Here's the way the Lake Minnetonka scene goes, according to the screenplay at the Internet Movie Script Database (with Vanity instead of Apollonia as the initiate):
PRINCE
You have to purify yourself in
Lake Minnetonka.
... Suddenly she turns on her heels, moves
purposefully toward the water. He's
shocked, realizes that she's about to
go in--
PRINCE
Hey, wait a minute! Thats--
But she silences him savagely--
VANITY
We made a deal!
And before he can react she scampers
along a log, DIVES beneath the surface.
He can't believe it -- her spirit really
impresses him. She breaks the surface
coughing and sputtering, hops and jumps
to the shore--
PRINCE
Hold it.
VANITY
What?
PRINCE
That ain't Lake Minnetonka.
