How You Can Take in Lake Minnetonka's Fall Colors on Kayak

Next weekend's paddle is open to anyone wishing to view foliage from the waters of Lake Minnetonka.

Enjoy the beauty and splendor of Lake Minnetonka and the fall colors on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Lake Minnetonka Regional Park in Minnetrista. Paddle around the secluded islands and bays of Lake Minnetonka, take a short side trip to Wawatasso Island and learn some of the history of the Upper Lake. 

Previous paddling experience required. All equipment provided. 

There is a tour designed for women in the morning from 9 a.m.–noon and a tour open to all from 1-4 p.m. Cost is $45 and reservations are required. Call 763-559-6700 to make a reservation and reference activity number No. 426212-00 for the morning women’s tour or No. 426212-01 for the afternoon tour. 

Tours are for ages 18 and older.

The is a natural resources-based park system that manages park reserves, regional parks, regional trails and special-use facilities in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The Park District offers facilities for every season, including picnicking, swimming, creative play, boating, fishing, downhill skiing and more.
