Tonight: Princesses Take Over Excelsior for Girls' Night Out

Excelsior Girls' Night Out will help raise awareness for two local charities in 2012—Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance and Hope Chest for Breast Cancer.

Princesses from around Lake Minnetonka and the surrounding area are invited to Excelsior tonight as the annual Girls' Night Out launches its seventh season of summer fun.

Events take place each Thursday night from 5–9 p.m. in downtown Excelsior, beginning tonight and continuing through Oct. 4.

Although Girls’ Night Out takes place each week, a theme night is planned every month.

Women of all ages are encouraged to invite their friends, families and neighbors to come out and join the fun every week and support local Excelsior businesses.

Excelsior Girls’ Night Out will help raise awareness for two local charities in 2012—Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MOCA) and Hope Chest for Breast Cancer.

MOCA began in 1999 by a group of ovarian cancer survivors with the goal of raising funds for research, creating awareness of the disease and providing support to women and families who are affected by ovarian cancer. Hope Chest for Breast Cancer, founded in 2001, has raised over $1 million to support breast cancer patients and their families through special events and two resale stores located in Orono and St. Paul.

Representatives from these organizations will be available at the GNO events each Thursday night to provide information and answer questions.

More information about upcoming events is available on the Excelsior Girls’ Night Out website, and can also be found on Facebook.
